𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠˖⋆࿐໋₊

  Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Carla and I am a student of anthropology. I like English, because is funny, but sometimes I have big problems to recall some words in English when I speak with someone. For that motive, I want to learn more, because for me that language is quite important for the future and start to communicate with people of others countries. At the same time, I like memes in English, and watch videos from various channels of YouTube, are very hilarious and can be a good method to learn more and understand better when somebody is speaking you.

This photo was taken at the BTS concert, where the members of the band with the Staff said goodbye in front of the fans. That day was amazing, especially when this was my first concert. Between 2014 and 2018 I was a big fan of BTS (I still like them, but not like before), which is a korean band that lately has gained more worldwide popularity and recognition. In March 2017 they did a concert in Chile at the Movistar Arena, which I was able to attend. I remember that day I was very excited and happy, because I would see them live for the first time, and that was a big dream for me. The concert was quite amazing and funny, especially the technologies they used, such as lights or sounds, because those technologies were very modern (in the photograph it is not appreciated so much, but it was surprising), especially considering that it is a korean band, where they have a better technology in their country. Also, I could appreciate how talented and cute they were. Currently I doubt too...

I am not a big fan of the series, but I recently saw one called "The Queen's Gambit", which is on Netflix and have seven chapters. Then, I want to talk about that. The main character, named "Elizabeth", is a woman who plays chess, and she is pretty good. Also, the context is based on the Cold War, when existed the fight between the URSS and United States. In other part, it was rare to see a woman playing chess in the '60s, because people considered like a game for men, and was very weird see a woman playing that. However, the protagonist was able to beat many players, even professionals. Personally, I recommend so much this series because the protagonist showed her abilities and potentials at chess, although  she demonstrated her weaknesses. I think that "The Queen's Gambit" has a lot of symbols and theories, but I do not want to talk about that, because could be a spoiler.

I do not have a favourite piece of technology, but I like the earphone. This device allows sending sound waves to the ears. For that motive, people can listen to music or others sound from the auricular. Also, I can't remember exactly when I got my first earphone.  To use the earphones is easy. I just connect it to other technological gadgets, like computer or cell phone. For that reason,  I use earphones every day and each moment. Even though, I know that I should be more careful, because the earphones can make a damage to the ear. P ersonally , I like a lot the earphone, because is useful. Also, with this device I can listen to music, and that allows me to isolate myself from other people when I want to be alone and more quiet.  For last, it is very easy to transport, because it is small, and I can connect it to a mobile or computer. I think that without earphones, the life would be more boring for people or me.  

  As a child, I wanted to be a psychologist or a lawyer to help the people; however, I was not sure about studying those careers. Then, at the age of fourteen years I decided my dream of studying anthropology, because I like history, culture, and the scientific part since I was a child. My parents always supported and encouraged me to achieve it, which I appreciate so much.  I have not many problems with online class, but sometimes I feel stressed and distraught. For that reason I must learn to control it, and be more patient and perseverant.  In the future I would like to do research, collaborate with museums and teach at universities, because I am sure that work in those fields may be interesting and emotional for me.

Carla Ortiz Sánchez was born on January 11, 2002 in Santiago, Chile. She studied at Insigne Gabriela School, located in Quinta Normal. But after this, she was changed to Liceo 1 Javiera Carrera . Currently, she’s studying anthropology at University of Chile. About her family, they are five members. Among them are her parents, older brother Erick and younger sister Camila. However, her pet Emily is also part of the family, she’s everything for them. It’s difficult to say about her hobbies, but Carla enjoys listen to music, eats food from other countries, read, and learn new things. Besides that, she adores take pictures from her phone. Last of all, she feels very comfortable and cheery with the rain and cloudy days. This is a picture of Emily!! ♡
